800,000 people trained - A trip to Google - Who is a Google Trainer?

I’m on my way to Prague for today’s Google Trainer Christmas meetup. The Google Certified Trainer program provides digital technology and soft skills training across the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The goal of these trainers is to help people advance in their careers and personal development. At the meeting, we’ll recap our activities, evaluate the year, and award the best trainer. We’ll also discuss plans and activities for next year... And what kind of trainers would we be if we didn’t include a training session at our own meetup? We voted for a lecture by Pavla Louženská: How Trend Forecasting Works. Afterward, we’ll head to the Christmas markets for a few beers.

At the same time, preparations are underway for the biggest e-commerce event in the Czech Republic, Czech Online Expo. Two weeks ago on Tuesday, the guarantors and the Expo implementation team met at Impact Hub in Prague. We discussed the entire concept of what COE will look like and how it will run. We went over all the changes made since previous years and brainstormed ideas for the future. The biggest news is that SmartEmailing is acquiring Czech Online Expo and will be in charge of the entire organization. I will be speaking at the expo and am also the guarantor for the PPC Summit, which means I’m preparing the program. During the four lectures at the PPC Summit at Czech Online Expo, you will learn how to create a bulletproof strategy, how to put AI to practical use, why optimizing for ROAS isn't always the best choice, and, of course, the latest tips for PPC advertising. Everything revolves around business, inspiration, education, and fun. Since 2016, Google Certified Trainers have trained 800,000 people—300k in Slovakia and 500k in the Czech Republic. In 2023 alone, a total of 66k people were trained, with 18k+ in Slovakia and 48k+ in the Czech Republic. The most active trainer this year is Jan Tichý, who trained over 10,000 people and took home the top prize. The rest of us trainers also had a second Christmas and walked away with some smaller gifts.

Next up was a workshop on how trend forecasting works, covering topics like: How is it possible to predict the future? And what tools do trend forecasters use? You can find more in Pavlína Louženská’s article.

The biggest advantage of this work is the opportunity to develop the Czech Republic with new knowledge and help push it toward the forefront of technologically advanced nations, all under the umbrella of one of the world’s largest companies.
